St Albans - Workshops and Concert

On 24 March 2007 St Albans Folk Music is putting on afternoon workshops and and evening concert with CHARM at the Maltings Arts Theatre, St Albans.

Craig Morgan Robson:
Vocal Harmony Workshop

Thousands of people up and down the country have taken part in singing and harmony workshops with Moira Craig, Sarah Morgan and Carolyn Robson (aka Craig Morgan Robson). Their style is very approachable and good humoured making it really easy to learn, and their singing as a trio is positively inspirational. You won't need to read music, or have any choral singing experience - just come prepared to join in and have a go. You'll learn some beautiful songs from Britain and beyond, and you'll feel really good at the end of it! Comments about CMR workshops?

'We learnt a lot ! We didn't realise how much we had achieved until we looked back on the day. Then we were really proud!' (Yarcombe, Somerset).
"Absolutely brilliant" (Norwich)

"You seem to have a great knack of putting people at their ease and setting up a group to achieve much more than I believed possible in so little time." (Nailsea)
"Extremely professional, inclusive & accessible - thank you, I leave inspired!" (Whitby)

"Their song workshops are superb - whatever your experience, they make learning such fun. A great trio not to be missed."
Barry Lister & Tom Addison, Sidmouth Folk Week

Mary Humphreys and Anahata: Tune Workshop

"Weird and Wonderful Tunes"

Mary and Anahata are always looking for good tunes from the English traditional repertoire, and will be sharing some of the gems they have found. Whether you read music or not, you'll have an opportunity to learn some "new old" tunes that will turn heads at sessions and put a spring in the step of dancers if you're in a band. There are some recently composed rarities too.

We'll also give you some ideas for arrangements for two or more instruments.

The workshop is ideal for instrumentalists looking to widen their repertoire or try out some playing in harmony with other musicians.
